The Park Call

The Park Call or “the Call” is established by the Deed of Covenant, and is an annual payment that is made by everyone owning plots within Cressington Park (called “proprietors” within the covenant), in order to maintain and improve the Park each year. It is a non-negotiable and legally binding part of land ownership within the Park.

The Call amount each year varies, is set by a group of trustees (who are all also proprietors), and agreed at the Annual General Meeting. The value is based on a total planned budget for the year, divided evenly amongst the plots in the Park. Therefore everyone within the Park pays proportionally depending on the number of plots they own. The Call is communicated to all proprietors following the AGM and is then due for payment.

As well as covering the basics of maintaining the Park, the Call also provides a contribution towards a ‘sink’ fund held for more major projects or in case of an emergency. All proprietors must be aware that in the event of an emergency that required a significant payment where insufficient funds were available in the ‘sink’ fund to cover it, then all proprietors would be liable for the balance, shared equally across the Park based on the number of plots owned.
